New DHL mobile ‘DHL ServicePoint’ pop-up store in Tampa, Florida
There could be a new trend beginning to help customers drop off and pick up their small parcels if DHL’s new idea kicks in.
DHL USA recently expanded its huge network of U.S. retail locations with a new mobile pop-up store in Tampa, Florida. The shipping container-sized 100 percent off-the-grid, mobile DHL ServicePoint offers a safe, easy-to-use shipping option for customers.
The DHL ServicePoint pop-up will accommodate the increased B2C and B2B shipping demands in the USA.
The new unit is the first pop-up store in the greater Tampa region and marks the latest investment DHL has made in Florida. Earlier this year, DHL also opened a $4M facility in St. Petersburg to increase enable more shipments to be created, with faster shipment processing and even faster deliveries and later pickup cutoff times for local customers.
“Tampa is one of our fastest growing markets, and this mobile unit will address the increasing demand for international shipping by providing local customers with a faster, more convenient shipping option,” said Chet Paul, SVP of Commercial for DHL Express U.S.
Being 100% powered by solar, the ServicePoint also helps reduce energy consumption and contributes to DHL’s mission to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
The point-of-sale system is capable of processing shipments to U.S destinations as well as any of the 220 countries and territories DHL serves. Bubble wrap, packing tape and DHL-branded boxes are available at the mobile unit.
To create this mobile DHL ServicePoint location, DHL worked closely with Flexetail, a leading designer and builder of affordable mobile shops affordable to allow retailers to test new lines, explore new markets and launch new products.
There are over 3,500 independently owned DHL ServicePoint Partner stores which play a critical role in the company’s retail strategy within the U.S. market. All locations provide DHL Express international express shipping services (among other brands), global knowledge and expert advice to help businesses reach the international marketplace.
The big question is, when will we see the DHL ServicePoint stores popping up in Australia? Will they be popular and how will DHL choose the best location?
