8 New Boeing 777 Freighters for DHL
Did you know the DHL air fleet has grown to just over 200 – with more planes on order.
The Boeing 777 Freightliner being the latest addition to its fleet.
Last year DHL announced the pending arrival of 8 new Boeing 777 Freighters to strengthen their global aviation network. The Boeing 777 reduces CO2 emissions by 18 percent, compared to the existing planes currently in operation. The intention is to phase out the old planes with the new ‘planet-friendly’ fleet.
The 777 Freighter is the world’s largest, longest range and most capable twin-engine freighter with a range of 9,200 km (4,970 nautical miles) and can carry a maximum payload of 102,010 kg (224,900 lbs). It allows DHL Express to make fewer stops and reduce associated landing fees on long-haul routes, resulting in the lowest trip cost of any large freighter. (and hopefully – reduce freight costs).
